❚ Nelson’s Quiet Dog Gallery is exhibiting Rosie Little’s solo exhibition: Heading West, Golden Bay Landscapes until November 10.

❚ The Story Inside My Head exhibition is a collaborat­ion between writer Michelanne Forster and eight local artists, to reveal the stories behind the artists’ work, at Nelson’s Refinery ArtSpace until October 27.

❚ On That Place Where We Stand is an exhibition of Mark Baskett’s recent works at the Refinery ArtSpace until October 27.

❚ Eight-piece jazz band The Jac is touring New Zealand, hitting Motueka on October 19 at 7.30pm at the Chanel Arts Centre. Admission $20, or $5 for children. Tickets available from Floral Affaire, Motueka or on the door.

❚ The Nga¯ Hau Nga¯kau (Breath of Mine) exhibition by Brian Flintoff, Bob Bickerton and Robin Slow is on at the Suter Art Gallery until October 21.

❚ The Word, The Reckoning and The Rose isa show by local poets Henry Ludbrook, Rose Michel von Dreger and Mark Raffills, at the INNBETWEEN Backpacker­s, 335 Trafalgar St Nelson on October 16, 8pm; The Snug, behind Armadillos, 122 High St Motueka on October 17, 7pm; and The Mussel Inn, Onekaka. Golden Bay, October 18, 8pm. All shows are donation entry.

❚ Nelson Provincial Museum’s exhibition A Century of Saying Cheese will run until November 25.

❚ Different musicians are performing lunchtime concerts at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts every Thursday at 12.30pm.
