Automotive marketing company Orange Dog has been named the top business in Nelson for 2018, winning the Nelson Pine Supreme Business Award at the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce Business Awards on Saturday. This year marked the 30th anniversar­y of the awards, with 39 entries and nomination­s received across all categories. Pic Picot (Pic’s Peanut Butter) won business person of the year, with Benjamin Clark (Benjamin Black Goldsmiths) taking out the young business person of the year award. Hemisphere Health won the emerging business award, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nelson-Tasman won the small business award, and Orange Dog and Crombie Lockwood Nelson took out the medium and large business awards respective­ly. The Nelson Weekly picked up the clever business award, while Volunteer Nelson won the community impact award.
