■ The award-winning Pop-Up Globe cast comes to Nelson with Shakespear­e’s Hamlet, July 5-7 at the Theatre Royal, tickets $13.90-$71.50.

■ The improvisat­ion group, People’s Republic of Improv, is performing Game Show of Thrones, at the Refinery Art Space every Friday in July. Tickets available from www.eventfinda.co.nz, pay what you can from $15 to $30.

■ The New Zealand Guitar Quartet is performing at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts on July 7, 3.30pm. Tickets are available from TicketDire­ct; $25 for Community Service card holders, $35 for general tickets and $5 for NCMA staff and students.

■ The Carnivorou­s Plant Society is bringing its Mexican fantasy music to Mapua and Onekaka in a multimedia production. Presented by Arts on Tour New Zealand, the group will be at the Playhouse Theatre on July 12, 8pm, tickets $20 at the Playhouse and at the Golden Bay’s Mussel Inn on July 13, 8pm, tickets $15 at the door.

■ The Nelson Suter Art Society is hosting Margaret Fairs’ exhibition, Nelson - Plein Air, Et Al, at the McKee Gallery. Until July 14.

■ Aotearoa’s own flute sax piano trio, TrioNique, is performing at NCMA on July 6 at 1pm. Tickets available from NCMA, $10-$25.

■ The Composers Associatio­n of New Zealand is holding an opening concert at the NCMA in celebratio­n of John Rimmer’s 80th birthday. July 7 from 7pm to 9pm, entry by koha (donation).

■ NZTrio presents their concert, Tectonic Shift at NMCA on July 12, 7.30pm. Tickets available from NCMA priced from $20 to $40.

■ NCMA’s Celebratio­n Series presents John Thomson and Monica Chang, The Emanon Duo, and their recital, The French Connection on July 14, 3.30pm. The pair celebrate music for violin and piano by diverse composers. Tickets $30, available from NCMA.
