Nelson Airport Walk the Runway 2024: An exciting in-person event at Nelson Airport. Get ready to experience the thrill of walking down the actual runway. today, 7.30pm–9pm. A donation will support the entry of Nelson Airport Rescue Fire Service team members participat­ing in the 2024 Firefighte­r Sky Tower Challenge.

Golden Bay A&P Show: The popular annual event will include crowd favourites such as the Takaka Citizens Band, the Motueka Pipe Band and The Grand Parade in the early afternoon. Today, 8am-5pm. $15 pre-show ticket, $20 gate sale, Under 15 free.

Nelson Kite Festival: The Nelson Summer Kite Festival is on, at Neale Park, today and tomorrow, noon-5pm. When that summer northerly sea breeze kicks in, enjoy very smooth flying conditions. Hosted by the Nelson Kite Club.

The Feelers – Reimagined Greatest Hits Tour: Following on from the release of the band’s Reimagined – Greatest Hits album, The Feelers on the road with a new live show and good friends Capital Theatre in tow. Now at Appleby House, tomorrow, 4pm-9pm. Tickets from $64.50.

Nelson Paintvine in the Park - Abstract Flowers: A beginner’s painting class in some of New Zealand's most beautiful parks and gardens. In this sunny twohour painting session, you’ll take on the techniques of acrylics led by our expert Paintvine artists. Today, 2pm, $47.

Feasts on Fridays: Come down and enjoy your favourite street food from Nelson Tasman at Kirby Lane every Friday between 4.30 and 8.30 this summer. This is a family-friendly event so everyone is welcome! Running until March 15.

Milnes Beatson Wakefield Roaster:

The first Waimea Harriers event in 2024 is the Milnes Beatson Wakefield Roaster – a 5km and 10km fun run or walk today. Registrati­on is outside Wakefield police station from 2.15pm to 3pm.

Summer Singalong with The Wellington Sea Shanty Society: Round up your crew and come have a sing and a dance with Aotearoa New Zealand's finest proponents of the sea shanty. Best dressed prizes, nautical games, singalongs! Riwaka Hotel, today, 7pm-9.30pm. R18.

Ruby's Morning Coffee 5km Series: 5km race for runners and walkers held every Wednesday morning during January at 6am. Meet at Ruby's, the container on Akersten Street, Port Nelson for registrati­on. All times recorded with a different 5km course each day. $5 entry fee, enter on the morning of the event with heaps of spot prizes to be won.

Takaka Open Mic Night: The Gypsy Pickers host and perform for the Open Mic Night at Roots Bar, Takaka, every Thursday. This is a popular night with locals and travellers. Bring along your songs, instrument­s and dancing shoes for a fun and entertaini­ng evening. Starts 8.30pm. No cover charge.

The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac: Rachel Williams the Gold Dust Woman who sounds and looks just like Stevie herself teams up with an amazing team of musicians and gives this timeless music such justice. The Playhouse Cafe and Theatre, January 26, 8pm, $34.05.
