BMW M Festival

-

Once again, 2017 saw BMW take its M Festival across the country to Ruapuna, Manfeild and Hampton Downs.

The M Festival offers the opportunity to jump behind the wheel of a range of M cars and feel the power and poise offered by the latest on offer from the Bavarian powerhouse.

The M Festival is a half-day track experience giving BMW drivers, those testing the waters of M ownership and those with a heavy right foot and a desire for a brilliant day out the ability to explore the limits of M cars under the expert guidance of Mike Eady, and the team from Tracktime.

The M Festival is a step up from traditional driver training days, allowing drivers to properly test their own driving skills while pushing the limits of the track and the cars.

The half-day experience is split into three modules — the slalom, which pits drivers against one another for time through a slalom course, the braking test which requires heavy right and left feet with the winner wanting to achieve the highest possible speed, and to pick the best braking point to come to a stop in a cone box, and finally, drivers are sent out to do complete circuits of the track, getting a drive in the full range of cars, from the new M2 to the behemoth that is the X5M, and everything in between.

Of course the day wouldn’t be complete without a prizegiving and a debrief before heading home to jump online, and dream about owning your very own M car.
