Jeep is heading Overland to achieve more value for money for its Wrangler, with the launch in New Zealand of the Jeep Wrangler Overland, which adds increased levels of luxury and convenience.

Standard features include the Uconnect media centre with satnav, reversing camera, and leather upholstery, while outside premium refinements such as automatic headlights, new 18-inch polished silver alloys with Bridgestone Dueler tyres, and body- coloured flares and hard top, will appeal to the urban SUV owners and off road adventurers alike.

The Jeep Wrangler Overland is equipped with the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine and five-speed automatic transmission. This package delivers 209kW and 347Nm of torque, with an impressive 90 percent of maximum torque available between 1,800 and 6,350 rpm. Fuel consumption for the combined cycle is 11.7 L/100 km.

With a price difference over the standard versions of the Jeep Wrangler of $11,000, the Jeep Wrangler Overland package represents a saving of more than $7,000.

“The Wrangler Overland enables Jeep’s most iconic car to compete fully with socalled ‘soft roader’ four wheel drives in terms of luxury, comfort and equipment,” explains Clyde Campbell, director of Fiat Chrysler New Zealand.

“But at the same time it maintains its legendary off-road ability, giving Wrangler Overland a combination of unique styling, features and ability that is unique in the marketplace.

“With a substantial saving over buying the extra equipment separately, it also does this with superb value for money.”

Features included in the Overland above the base variant soft-top two-door Wrangler Sport and the four-door Wrangler Unlimited models are leather trim, available in premium black or optional black/ dark saddle, heated front seats, automatic headlamps, bright interior accents, body colour flares, body colour three-piece hard top, 18-inch polished wheels, Alpine audio system and Media Centre 731N navigation system with 16.5cm touch screen, GPS Navigation, 40GB hard drive (4,250 song capacity), Voice Command with Bluetooth, hands-free calling, and address sync, plus six speakers and audio jack.

There’s also a reversing camera, premium black Sunrider soft top, tinted glass and tubular side steps.

The Jeep Wrangler Overland arrives in dealers in August, with the Wrangler Overland two-door at $ 59,990 and the fourdoor at $ 64,990.
