Countryman's update
The new Countryman’s wheelbase has been extended by 7.5 centimetres with increased space for passengers and luggage. The luggage compartment volume is now a spacious 450 litres and can be extended as required to a total of 1,390 litres up 220 litres. The standard collision warning with light city braking function can be extended to include the Driving Assistant system with camera-based active cruise control, pedestrian warning with initial brake function, high beam assistant and speed limit information traffic sign recognition system. In addition to the standard Park Distance Control and rear view camera, Parking Assistant and HeadUp-display are also available as optional equipment. The Cooper starts the range featuring a six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, electric tailgate operation, two-zone automatic air conditioning, and Mini Radio Visual Boost infotainment package. Cloth ‘Firework’ upholstery is standard equipment. It is powered by a three-cylinder 1,499cc petrol engine delivering 100 kw power and 220 Nm torque. The Cooper S adds 18-inch alloy wheels, eightspeed Steptronic automatic transmission, navigation system, Park Distance Control front and rear plus Parking Assistant, keyless entry and start with foot operated tailgate opening. It is powered by a four-cylinder 1,998 cc petrol engine delivering 141 kw power and 280 Nm torque. The Mini Countryman range starts from only $44,900 plus on-road costs for Cooper, and $52,900 for Cooper S.
