Cartrack NZ (Cartrack) reports that its parent company gained 72,000 new customers in the year ending February 2016, comprising 189,000 new units fitted Worldwide. Cartrack has been operational in NZ since June 2016. Business Development Manager Shane Millar reports that it has approximately 200 organisations under contract with current subscriptions across a wide sector of industries. This does not include our private stolen vehicle recovery operation. Cartrack’s main point of difference is that it has been able to tailor its services to each particular customer, thereby only charging customers for the services they require rather than charging for a whole package. Customers are able to choose the options best suited to their business, and if they later wish to add additional items, a small additional charge is payable. For smaller SME and independents telematic services have in the past been viewed as cost prohibitive, for Cartrack it is not just a case of one price for one system take it or leave it, we can tailor packages and our prices are transparent, we offer options to purchase the hardware directly from the company who manufacture the hardware and software. The entry point for tracking is very cost effective – for example our advanced GPS devices are $150 per unit, plus fitting. Our business model is such that we are happy to pass on the device at cost in an attempt to target new business and grow the subscriber base. We also offer a rental option should companies not want the capex cost. Cartrack has engaged in discussions with a number of customers in order to gain feedback with the intention of improving the NZ operation. This feedback is from customers on past or current fixed term contracts. Many have acknowledged the ease of doing business with us. Customers who purchase the hardware from us do not require any onerous fixed term contracts. In addition, when the rental option is taken, at the end of the term we no longer charge for this portion, thus reducing the long-term costs by up to a further 30 percent. We also include a service and product guarantee that should we not be able to for fill our obligations in good faith we will simply terminate the agreement. Cartrack International has a vision which includes a mission of achieving the position of preferred and recommended service provider for fleet management, stolen vehicle recovery and insurance telematics, both locally and internationally. This means earning the reputation that we provide all our clients and partners with superior quality technology and information supported by first rate service. Our promise to clients is to go above and beyond what is expected. To this end, Cartrack has its own dedicated factory trained technicians with mobile capability who are available to meet the requirements of fitment at almost any time, anywhere. Off Road RUC and Label Management – Cartrack offers this as a customised feature to any of its packages. By default, Cartrack can calculate the off road usage and prepopulate the NZTA rebate form. In addition to this and as an alternative to some of the current providers Cartrack is able to manage the purchasing of the RUC of our clients. We do not have the ability to display in real time the RUC on the vehicle windscreen, however we are able to capture when the RUC are required, purchase them on the client’s behalf and automate the sending of the labels for a fraction of the cost to what some companies are paying. Health and Safety – Cartrack has a full suite of health and safety reports available to help mitigate concerns associated with the changes to the Worksafe legislation which came into force in 2016 and ensure clients meet the requirements. From driver score cards, detailed speeding reports, operating hours, risk management reports, trip over view and our new continuous driver hours reports all with real time alerts functionality built in.
