PROBIOTICS AND MEMORY

-

Probiotics may not necessarily be a silver bullet for better health, according to new research, which suggests they may cause memory problems for those already eating a healthy diet. University of New South Wales researchers found probiotics were most effective for rats on a junk-food diet. Their gut health improved and so did their spatial memory. But probiotics did nothing to improve the gut health of rats with a healthy diet, and their spatial memory

deteriorated.
