BEATING BABY BLUES
Canadian researchers have found that taking a combination of three dietary supplements may help ward off “baby blues” experienced by many women a few days after giving birth. The three supplements – tryptophan, tyrosine and blueberry extract with blueberry juice – were chosen to compensate for rising levels of the brain protein MAO-A, which breaks down the chemicals that help maintain mood and peaks five days after giving birth. None of the women who took the supplements got the baby blues.
