SATURDAY JULY 15

Into the Wild with Gordon Buchanan (Choice TV, 6.30pm). So many “wild” things on Choice TV, although none of the others have been nominated for a Scottish Bafta. Film-maker Buchanan ( The Bear Family and Me) takes celebs on wildlife adventures: he searches for otters in the Western Isles with journalist Alastair Campbell; foxes and badgers in Essex with comedian Ed Byrne; and wild ponies on Dartmoor with broadcaster Sara Cox. It’s pretty rugged, and they only have three days to find the animals.

Cricket (Sky Sport Pop-up 3, Sky 057, 9.28pm). The final match of the group stage for the White Ferns; they play India today in Derby and will hopefully be in the top two of their group to make it into the semi-finals on July 18. The final will be played on the hallowed turf of Lord’s on July 23. In tennis news, Wimbledon concludes this week with the women’s and men’s singles, which screen overnight on TVNZ Duke on Saturday and Sunday.

SUNDAY JULY 16

The Night Manager (Three, 11.30pm). A repeat of the cool spy thriller based on John le Carré’s book – le Carré is in a restaurant scene if you look closely enough. Tom Hiddleston is the former British soldier who gets in with bad guy Hugh Laurie and takes a fancy to his wife, Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki. The great Olivia Colman was hugely pregnant during filming but, like Marge Gunderson in Fargo, she gets the job done. Hiddleston, Laurie and Colman all won Golden Globes and director Susanne Bier won an Emmy. Totally worth a look or even a second viewing.

MONDAY JULY 17

Game of Thrones (SoHo, Sky 010, 1.00pm and 8.30pm). Finally, winter is here. In fact, filming of season seven was delayed so that the production could film in, er, winter. Locations are Ireland, Spain and Iceland. There be dragons, battles, mad queens and Ed Sheeran. Also, the guy from Mastodon is making another cameo and British indie pop band Bastille are appearing. Please, old and new gods, not another red
