Neil Galbreath (Greytown) ‘WONDER’ REVIEW REVIEWED

Years 5 and 6 pupils of Bayfield School in Herne

Bay, Auckland, were moved to respond to the review of Wonder ( Film, December 9).

We are writing to complain about your review of Wonder, which we would have given at least four stars. You didn’t seem to get why certain things happened and clearly haven’t read the book.

Ashton Smith and William Taylor

We went to Wonder with 120 other kids and we all loved it and some of us even cried.

Fynn Mangan and Sam Baird

Your review is harsh and is targeting the wrong audience because the movie and the book are for kids.

Dallas Kingi

We know how hard it is to write a review (because we’ve done it ourselves) and we understand that you didn’t like this movie that much. We think most people would rate Wonder at least three stars.

We recommend that if you write another movie review, you should read the book (if there is one).

Gus Dallow and Leo Baldwin

The film doesn’t do a great job compared with the book. It lacks major plot resolutions and seems a bit childish and cheesy.

The producers don’t seem to have thought through who would watch it. Some of the casting choices were not ideal.

Its message was still strong and the story inspiring, but it was a two-star attempt to live up to the book.
