SATURDAY MAY 12

Homeland Marathon (SoHo, Sky 010, 8.55am). An interesting seventh season of Homeland went full-on with Russian interference in American domestic politics – but not without also making reference to the splits and schisms in America today. Its eighth, and most likely final, season will reportedly take a big time jump and will be set in Israel.

Flight of the Conchords (Box Sets, Sky 009, from 7.30pm). The comedy duo that TVNZ famously rejected have done okay since making this cult classic for HBO. Sky Box Sets screens season one today and season two next week, which may or may not be related to the fact that the new series created by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, Wellington

Paranormal, is slated to screen in the middle of this year. Clement is part of a film crew following the capital’s paranormal police unit. “There was a very tense situation at the Bucket Fountain,” he told Stuff. “I can tell you it involved a possible gateway from Hell.” Clement and Waititi are also developing a What We Do in the Shadows TV series for the FX network in the US. Can’t wait.

TUESDAY MAY 15

Gloriavale: The Return (TVNZ OnDemand, from noon). Despite the controversies, the treatment of people who leave and the horrible dresses that inspired The Handmaid’s Tale, we’re still fascinated with the West Coast Christian community of Gloriavale. No one under 25 watches television any more, so this new mini-series is online and will catch up with some of the Gloriavale inmates
