Veteran journalist Cameron Bennett has directed a twopart exploration of medical marijuana for Attitude (TVNZ 1, Sunday, 11.00am), following three different sides of the story.

In the first episode, In Pot Pursuit features paraplegic Tanya Black, who is trying to access medical marijuana in New Zealand. It’s an attempt to find a less-harmful method of managing her chronic pain, but there are so many hoops and barriers she is losing hope.

Also featured are three entrepreneurs who see the proposed changes to the

Misuse of Drugs Act making their way through the parliamentary process as a business opportunity. They are the directors of one of a number of companies applying for a licence to cultivate and research medicinal cannabis.

In part two next week, the investigation turns to California, where medicinal marijuana is legal. Featured are a father who treated his epileptic son with marijuana

and now owns two dispensaries, and the creator of the strain of marijuana called Charlotte’s Web, who is now a billionaire.

Life After Footy: Legends of the Pacific (Prime, Sunday, 9.30pm) looks back on a transformative era in rugby and league. Players such as Bryan Williams, Michael Jones, Joeli Vidiri and Eroni Clarke opened the door on a Pacific bounty that continues today.
