New Zealand Surfing

IZZY WYBROW

// OUTER REEF If there is one place where wipeouts belong and go hand in hand with the game, it’s in big wave surfing. Having to cover so much ground, waves change shape pretty damn quickly and can turn an epic looking wave into a nightmare in the flick of a switch. Izzy would have to be credited with being the best tow surf jet ski driver in the country, the things he can make a ski do and the places he puts one and pulls off time and time again are quite freakish. The funny thing is while he is more than a talented surfer, some days he just loves driving so much, he opts not to surf. Just stoked on putting his mates in the perfect spot. However on this day when it came his turn to jump in the straps he snuck a few epic waves under his belt before the weight on his tow board came loose and he spun out off the bottom, went into a full layback position, almost pulling it off before being picked up and thrown over the falls. After being dealt to and rag dolled, he popped up laughed, grabbed a screwdriver, tightened weight and grabbed the rope for another.
