Name? Dayna Story From? Gisborne, NZ Occupation? Student How long you been surfing and what does it mean to you? Surfing for four years, it means everything to me. It’s my lifestyle, my passion! Where did you first surf and what on? First surfed on a foamie in front of Waikanae Surf Life Saving Club. Achievemen­ts in the surf and in life? National title Piha U16 Nationals 2013. Making the NZ Junior team this year to the ISA World Junior Champs in Nicaragua. Series winner of Bil- labong Grom from U12 and U14. Volcom VQS 2013 Gisborne U20 girls winner. Middle school Champion sports women. ISA scholarshi­p recipient 2012. Interests? Music, skating, surfing, snowboardi­ng, netball. Your idea of a good time? Either surfing, raging to some music, hanging with friends and fam. Goals? Win another National title. Make the NZ junior team next year and the following, and to eventually win a World Title. Fav Food? Pasta and fruit. Advice for budding girl surfers, wanting to

give surfing a try? Get out there and surf! Grab some mates and enjoy every minute of it. Both surfing and life! Pretend you just won an Academy Award, who do you have to throw down a shout out to for getting to where you are in life right now? Huge shout out to my parents! Their support is amazing and I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am now without their constant belief and encouragem­ent. To my sisters Bex and Hannah, all my family, and my best friend Tayla Lum. They are all so supportive I’m very lucky to have them around.
