LUKE / CEDERMAN

"It's hard to be humble when you're as great as I am."

- Muhammad Ali

While Luke Cederman has had a distinguished competitive career, he is most well-known for his free-surfing maestro! Luke has been around on the scene since he was around 11 years old, but you’d have never known he was that young as he was a giant of a guy. A classic character who is always a top laugh, Luke has gained some good competition success and has represented NZ at the World Grommet Titles and ISA World Champs several times. In 2001 Luke was member of the gold medal winning NZ Team that won the Quiksilver World Grommet Titles in Sydney our first and only World Team Title. But it is when he is free of the contest rash shirt when Luke really shows his true colours with a brand of high-performance power surfing that is up there with the best in the world. Huge rail turns and massive aerials leave those watching gasping when Luke winds up on a wave. This type of surfing rewarded Luke with a spot in the famous Taylor Steele movie ‘Innersection’ an honour which is the free-surfers equivalent of winning a title. The movie featured the best free-surfers on the planet in the best waves, and not only did Luke make the movie he was a standout putting himself, Raglan and NZ on the map.
