THIS YEAR’S SOUTH­PAC TRUCK­ERS & LOG­GERS Fish­ing Tour­na­ment was the big­gest yet, with 41 teams turn­ing out in the Bay of Is­lands for the three-day con­test.

e 148 an­glers reg­is­tered for the tour­na­ment made it by far the largest tour­na­ment hosted by the Bay of Is­lands Sword sh Club.

Tv shing show celebrity Matt Wat­son at­tended the brie ng and told his story – but Maarten Durent, CEO of tour­na­ment main sponsor South­pac Trucks, prob­a­bly would have won any pop­u­lar­ity con­test…thanks to his bar shout at the Sword sh Club’s Pai­hia club­house.

With great weather con­di­tions pre­dicted, ev­ery team en­tered turned up for the “start shing” call.
