Sweet TALKER

A box of store-bought ice creams becomes a feast for the eyes with this too- easy trick.

-

Per six ice creams, you will need: ✤ 340g coloured candy melts (available from speciality baking stores. You can also use white chocolate melts, and colour them with powdered food colouring) ✤ 50g vegetable shortening (approximately) ✤ Decorations of your choice ✤ Baking paper 1. Using a double boiler, gently heat the candy melts and shortening until pourable. Aim for a maple syrup-like consistency, thinning with more shortening if needed. Add food colouring if using. 2. Pour the chocolate into a tall glass, big enough to fit an ice cream held upside-down. 3. Working quickly, remove the ice creams from the freezer and dip them into the glass. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then place carefully onto a sheet of baking paper. 4. Decorate to your theme, then place the ice creams back in the freezer. If using fresh flowers, place these onto each ice cream just before serving.
