HAPPY TEARS

Panda eyes, be gone. Keep lashes long and luscious – and smudge-proof – on the big day with a trusty waterproof mascara.

Panda eyes, be gone

Naturally, you’ll likely shed a tear (or five) on W- day, not to mention be joyfully snuggling up close to your nearest and dearest for all of those ‘congratulations’ hugs post- ceremony. Keeping this in mind, eye makeup that’ll stay put well into the evening should be high on the priority list.

Mascaras and eye products labelled waterproof or water resistant vary in formulas and promises, but generally, a water resistant product means that it will not smudge as easily as non-water resistant formulations. However, a waterproof product should do a good job at keeping colour where it should be.

Remember that everyone is different – some people have eyes that consistently ‘water’. So as with any beauty product, it pays to do your research to discover what works for you. Bridal makeup artist Simone Anderson (@simone_ anderson) says that even if you’re not prone to weeping, it’s better to be safe than sorry and to don waterproof mascara.

“I always have false lashes on hand for my brides for the big day, but always advise that if they are worried about lots of happy tears, then lash extensions are a wonderful alternative as they won’t come off with watery eyes.”

If you know you’re going to bawl, it’s worth checking out other tricks such as RevitaLash Eyelash Growth Serum. Using this for three months will make your lashes appear longer and fuller. Couple this with an eyelash lift/perm (see circle) and a lash tint, and you won’t even need to worry about your eye makeup heading southward.
