OLIVER HOARE

-

THEN: Art dealer Oliver Hoare was a friend of Charles who Diana met for the first time at the gym. Sixteen years older than the princess and married, their friendship is believed to have developed into a romantic liaison after her father, Earl Spencer, died in 1992 and Oliver was a source of comfort to her.

Diana’s bodyguard Ken Wharfe revealed he once found a semi-naked Oliver hiding behind a pot plant in a Kensington Palace corridor, smoking a cigar.

The relationship appears to have been short-lived and after it ended, Diana was alleged to have made more than 300 phone calls to his home. She admitted making the calls in the Panorama interview, but denied harassing him. NOW: Oliver (69) has kept quiet about Diana and the phone calls she made to him. The art dealer made headlines two years ago when he was banned from driving after being caught drink-driving following a minor prang.
