New Zealand Woman’s Weekly

FROM THE EDITOR

- Alice O’Connell, Editor nzww@bauermedia.co.nz

If I needed any other sign that winter has well and truly arrived – besides last week’s sudden Arctic turn

– it’s the onset of those darn winter ills and ails.

The giant containers of vitamin C in our office are being munched through faster than I’ve seen any lolly jar devoured, and the scent of eucalyptus oil routinely wafts my way, thanks to our creative director Mirella’s oil burner (which we’re guessing might not be OSH approved!).

Last week, I was completely taken out by a cold that turned into the peculiarly named labyrinthitis, which has a lot less to do with a David Bowie fantasy movie obsession than the name suggests.

It’s actually an inner ear virus and it left me feeling like an ill pirate stuck on the high seas. I was bedridden as I tried to get over the ghastly thing.

Thankfully, I had assistant editor Kelly to helm the magazine while I was away.

It really is the season for coughs and colds, so I hope you’re staying well and warm.

Do keep an eye on our magazine over the coming weeks as we seek expert opinions, advice and tips for avoiding the ills and chills this winter. I know I’ll be reading them very closely. Enjoy your week!
