• Women who jog for 30 minutes a day, five days a week, can extend their lives by as much as nine years. Researchers in the US have found that regular exercise can slow down cell ageing if it’s intensive enough. Men need to do 40 minutes a day to see the same benefits.
• A simple blood test may be able to predict whether women have an increased chance of having a stroke. Scientists at Harvard University have found that those with elevated levels of a certain protein are 56% more likely to have a stroke.
