New Zealand Woman’s Weekly

FROM THE EDITOR

It seems nearly unfathomable that next month we will mark two decades since that fateful day in Paris when we lost Diana, Princess of Wales. As news of her tragic passing broke here in New Zealand on that cold winter’s day, it seemed as though time stood still and I’m sure – despite 20 years now going by – you’ll remember where you were at that time too.

This week, one of the women who knew her best, the Duchess of York, recounts her memories of Diana in our interview conducted by UK journalist Marc Baker. Then, turn the page to see Diana’s greatest legacy – her children and grandchildren. The

People’s Princess would no doubt be incredibly proud of the work her two sons have continued on in her honour.

Both Princes William and Harry have inherited her deep compassion and that affection she had for others, which saw her literally reach out to comfort those in need – something we see the boys do, time and time again.

Here in the Weekly office, we have been poring over photographs for a special magazine we’ve created – Diana, HerLife&Legacy. It’s a special 100-page tribute, looking back over her extraordinary life and examining the impact she still exerts today. Look out for it at supermarkets and bookstores from today!

Enjoy your week.
