Nocturnal admission

-

If you’re currently watching what you eat, spare a thought for Robbie Williams, who is suffering from one of the stranger medical conditions.

The Let Me Entertain You singer has revealed he suffers from Nocturnal Sleep-related Eating Disorder, which causes him to get up in the middle of the night and eat, and be unaware he is doing so.

Because of the illness, Robbie (43) says he struggles to maintain his weight as he’s “not eating kale, but sugar”.

“I’m doing this very weird thing, and it’s been for over a year now, where I night-eat,” he reveals. “I am absolutely asleep and I get up, and

I go and eat. I don’t do it on purpose – I’m not aware I’m doing it – but it happens.

“And apparently in my sleep I don’t want kale, I want sugar and loads of it.”

The only evidence of his night-time raids have been empty plates and crumbs.

While the disorder sounds funny, Robbie’s wife Ayda (38) has revealed the star has always worried about his weight and frets constantly about letting his fans down. During his performance for the Manchester Bombing tribute concert, many UK media outlets remarked on Robbie’s apparent weight gain.

“He was called fat when he was 15 in Take That, which I think is disgusting,” says Ayda. “He has been on a diet ever since.”
