BEST MATE NAOMI MADE SURE NICOLE’S 50TH WAS A WILD RIDE
‘Our friends cost us millions!’
With Kylie Minogue ripping up the dance floor, Naomi Watts handing around canapes and the birthday girl blowing out the candles, Nicole Kidman’s 50th celebrations sounded like the swankiest Australian shindig ever.
Her pal Naomi has revealed details of the “wild” party she threw for her best friend of 35 years, which included a star-studded guest list and a lot of dancing.
“It’s in an intimate setting and everyone knows each other well, and we trust each other and next thing you know, there’s some music involved and we did some dancing,” Naomi (48) tells.
“Nicole’s a good dancer, she can tear it up… yeah, we were dancing and also Kylie – she can really dance,” Naomi remarked of the 49-year-old singer.
It was a belated party for the Big Little Lies star, who turned 50 in June. However, Naomi says she was determined to party with her best friend, who was also celebrating her Emmy nomination for her incredible turn in the lauded mini-series.
“It was to mark birthdays and Emmys and all things, and just, like, great, great friends who have powerful effects and love – effects on each other and love for one another. We’ve been through stuff together and it was time to just celebrate.”
The gesture seemed to be much appreciated by Nicole, who says the soirée turned a bit crazy as the night wore on.
“We had a big party that night,” she exclaims. “We were wild that night!
“There were a lot of us at that, a lot of Australians, and Nay and I have been so, so close since we were 15 years old. We’re really proud of that.”
We can’t wait to hear about Naomi’s 50th in a few years’ time!
