SWEET talker

WHAT OPRAH WAS ASKED BY ALL OF HER GUESTS

-

She is, of course, the undisputed queen of television, so it’s only natural for the people Oprah Winfrey interviews to be nervous about their encounter with the doyenne of the small screen.

It is, however, surprising to hear that even the planet’s biggest stars would be anxious – and as Oprah revealed last week, every single guest she interviewed for her long-running talk show would ask the same question.

“Everybody who I interviewed, after every interview, at some point somebody would say, ‘How was that? Was that okay? How’d I do?’” Oprah told during a panel discussion at the Tribeca TV Festival last week.

“Whether it was Barack Obama or Beyoncé, or the guy who’d murdered his kids… or somebody who’d lost their family, at the end of every interview, somebody would say, ‘Was that okay?’”

And while Oprah, who hosted a staggering 4561 episodes of her show, usually simply reassured her guest, there was one person who she was surprised needed a bit of encouragement.

“And after Beyoncé [came on], I go, ‘Girl, you’re Beyoncé!’”

However, the television legend admits to feeling intimidated herself when it comes to starring in films, recalling a conversation she had with her AWrinkleinTime co-star

Reese Witherspoon.

“I had just finished doing AWrinkle inTime and I asked

Reese, ‘How many movies have you done?’ And she said,

‘Oh, hundreds.

Hundreds.’ And I was thinking, ‘I think

I’ve done five – I hope she never asks me how many

I’ve done!”

Ah well – it’s nice to know

Oprah’s human!
