“We moved to New Zealand in 1974 and my Mum started having the English Women’s Weekly delivered to her, then she stopped because we discovered the New Zealand Woman’s Weekly! I have fabulous memories. My mum loved the recipes and the knitting patterns. I loved the Pixie Pages – they were the kids’ pages and I used to contribute to them all the time. As I grew up, I loved Over the Teacups! Our family had a real association with the Weekly all through our lives. My brother actually came second in a design competition run by Woman’s Weekly. Later on, one of my dad’s proudest moments was when he and I featured in the weekly for Father’s

Day. Happy 85th, Woman’s Weekly, you’ve been there all my life and I hope you’re there for many more years to come.”
