’90S

New Zealand Woman’s Weekly - - STYLE STAR -

We brought out the tweezers with brows becoming thin again, and the Rachel haircut was huge. Foundation was on the pale side but always matte, made all the more dramatic with dark lipstick or frosted lips with a dark outline. Certain vampy shades of nail varnish reached cult status.

Neutral coordinates with a safari influence were mixed with the music cultures of grunge and Brit pop to become the major fashion trends. Tailoring and accessorising became the go-to for styling during this decade.
