JEN’S COURT DRAMA

-

They were one of Hollywood’s hottest couples for a decade. But last week, the union between Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson, and fiancé David Otunga, came crashing down.

On the day the couple announced their separation, after 10 years together, it emerged the Dreamgirls star had been granted an order of protection against the actor and former wrestler, preventing David from coming near her or their eight-year-old son David Jr.

The acrimonious split has shocked Hollywood, but according to a representative for Jennifer (36), the pair “have been in the process of ending their relationship for a number of months”.

In documents read out in court, Jennifer accused her ex of harassing her with phone calls, pushing her inside their home while she was holding their son, and taunting her with a gun and holster left on the kitchen bench, which David (37) insists was only an audition prop.

In the filing, Jennifer says she is “living in fear” of her ex-fiancé, who is exhibiting “increasingly aggressive, threatening and harassing behaviour” towards her.

“He has a history of emotional and physical abuse, and I am afraid that his physical attacks will continue to escalate,”

Jennifer continues.

David, however, has slammed the allegations and said through his lawyer that he will contest custody of David Jr, claiming he has acted as his son’s main caregiver.

“Ms Hudson felt that she could give an award-winning performance in court to portray herself as the victim,” said attorney Tracy M. Rizzo. “Mr Otunga has never harassed or abused Ms Hudson, or their son.”
