This week’s model Gloria shares her beauty secrets with us...

How does your beauty routine change for summer? I have pedicures more frequently! I put my feet through a lot in summertime and they are more exposed to the elements, so they need extra care.

What beauty essential would you not leave home without when you go on holiday? I count my sunglasses as a beauty essential, especially on holiday when I’m out and about more. I remember reading years ago that wearing sunglasses with UV protection when you are outside – even when it’s cloudy – will help to protect both your eyes and the delicate skin around them. Ever since, I’ve always made sure I have good sunnies on hand.

Beauty-wise, what’s on your Christmas wishlist? A foot spa. Oh yes, husband, are you reading this?!

What’s your favourite sunscreen? I really like Nivea’s Sun Sprays. They are easy to apply and don’t feel greasy once they’re on. And spraying is a fun way for my five-yearold nephew to put on sunscreen when he’s with us! What’s in your beach bag? A huge straw sun hat always goes to the beach with me, as well as sunscreens for face and body, after-sun gel and a small bottle of conditioner to soften my hair after swimming. I also take a few sarongs as I use them as everything from temporary shade to a makeshift pillow to a sand removal tool. I’ll pack a couple of beach towels, lots of water, some almonds to snack on, spare change for ice cream, a book and mini-speakers for my music. My husband cheekily says he thinks I would take the kitchen sink if I could – I cheekily reply that I like to be prepared with anything he might forget!

What’s your favourite way to do your make-up for a party? Honestly, I’m not a make-up expert at all. Mascara and lip gloss are about my limit unsupervised, so if I have a special event to go to, I almost always hire a professional make-up artist who will advise me on what look would work best, depending on the type of party and what I’m planning to wear. I’ve never regretted bringing in an expert and it’s such a lovely, relaxing way to get ready for a party!
