This week’s model Susan shares her beauty tips with us. How does your beauty routine change for summer? I definitely moisturise more. I’m in the process of changing my skincare to locally-made, cruelty-free, ethical and natural products, so some new finds I’m loving are Antipodes Vanilla Pod Day Cream and Only Good The Nurturer Body Lotion. I also like a bit of time in the sun to get my vitamin D, but I do it sensibly – early in the morning or late afternoon for around eight minutes on each side, with a swim in between!

What beauty essential would you not leave home without when you go on holiday?

I’d have to have a gel pedicure before I left and I would pack my Skinnies SPF30 Sun Gel. Beauty wise, what’s on your wishlist? Having just experienced an incredible facial at the new Spring Spa in Auckland, I would love to go back for another one. It’s such a beautiful place.

What was your most recent beauty purchase? A stunning fragrance called Tobacco Night Extrait de Parfum from local perfume store Curionoir. The owner and creator Tiffany Jeans is so knowledgeable and passionate about fragrance, and makes the experience unique and wonderful.

What’s in your beach bag? A fluffy towel, sunscreen, my phone, sunglasses and lip balm.

What’s your favourite way to do your make-up for a party? Well, if I was going all out, I would try to recreate the look make-up artist Margaret Petchell used to do for me when I modelled for the likes of Benson & Hedges in the 1980s – it involved lots of iridescent coloured eyeshadow! But if left to my own devices, I’d probably go with a smoky eye and tinted lip gloss.
