Say CHEESE
IMPRESS YOUR DINNER GUESTS WITH A DIY TIMBER SERVING PLATTER – IT’S GOUDA-NUFF TO EAT FROM!
Step 1
Put on the disposable gloves and join the two pieces of timber. Run a bead of adhesive down the long side of one piece.
Step 2
Place the two pieces of timber in the bar clamps and tighten. Wipe away any excess glue with a
cleaning cloth and leave to dry.
Step 3
Using the combination square, measure out the biggest square possible on the timber and mark it out with a pencil.
Step 4
Secure the mitre saw to a bench. Put on the safety glasses and earmuffs, then cut out the timber square to size.
Step 5
Our cheese board was cut out into an octagon, but you can make it any shape. Using the combination square and pencil, draw two diagonal lines to find the centre of the board, then mark out the rest of your desired shape.
Step 6
Cut the board along the
markings using the mitre saw.
Step 7
Once done, use the sander or sandpaper to smooth the surface of the board and wipe away any dust.
Step 8
Use a cloth to apply foodgrade oil to the board and allow to dry. We applied four coats to our cheese board.
