$100 WINNING LETTER

-

But wait, there’s more I thoroughly enjoyed your article about Suzanne Paul (25.06.18) and dealt with her on a business basis, many years ago. Back then, she was a joy to talk to. However, I strongly object to her reference to Prestige Marketing, saying it “sounded like some crappy old make-up made in Otahuhu”. I lived and worked in Otahuhu for the best part of 40 years and, at one time, worked for a firm that was contracted to manufacture and pack cosmetics. I’m sure the workers would have been outraged to hear the product and the work they were doing being called “crappy”.

You obviously never dealt with us, Suzanne! S Howie, Papamoa Beach The writer of the winning letter receives $100. The other letter wins a copy of The Map of Salt & Stars by Jennifer Zeynab Joukhadar (Hachette, RRP $37.99). The story of a fatherless young woman’s flight into exile from the Syrian civil war is interwoven with a parallel story about a 12th-century girl undergoing a similar harrowing journey.
