AIDAN TURNER TELLS WHAT’S IN STORE FOR ROSS

-

The much-loved British series Poldark returns to TV this week with more drama and excitement. This season, Ross Poldark must defend his home of Cornwall from an empowered George Warleggan and begins a journey to London. Aidan Turner, who plays leading man Ross, tells us more about what’s to come in the brand-new episodes.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM ROSS THIS SEASON?

He’s in a better mood! His relationship with Demelza is something that is on the up. It’s a difficult time for them at the start of the season, but their relationship is really honest this year. It’s grown up and they have come a long way – it’s nice to see that.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST ENJOYABLE SCENE TO FILM THIS SEASON?

The scenes with Demelza in London were fun, especially now they have reunited and felt the love again. It’s been a while. It was nice to have fun with her again. It’s kind of like them

against the world again.

DO YOU HAVE NEW COSTUMES THIS YEAR, GOING UP TO LONDON?

Yes, they change with the times. In the space of those few years, they have changed a lot. The coats, jackets and the waistcoats are going up more, and the pants are getting tighter – unless it’s me!

GIVEN YOU ARE PLOUGHING THROUGH THE POLDARK NOVELS, HOW ARE YOU FEELING ABOUT THE SERIES’ IMPENDING END?

I have mixed feelings. It’s been big for us all and it will always be very special, but things naturally come to an end and I think we have done really well with Winston’s books and I hope he would be proud. But it’s nice when things naturally end. You don’t want them to just limp out the back door.
