Royally supportive!

They just had to do it. When Meghan, Duchess of Sussex presented her husband Prince Harry with a cup for winning a polo match, the newlyweds couldn’t resist locking lips.

The pair shared the congratulatory kiss after Harry’s team triumphed in a match held near Windsor to raise money for his African charity, Sentebale. Meghan (36) looked delighted when her husband scored two goals, and it must have been a relief to have something to celebrate in a week that has been very difficult for the former actress.

Her father, Thomas Markle, has been speaking out yet again about being shunned by Meghan and the royals. Thomas (74) has spoken to another newspaper, in which he says, “They [the royal family] have Meghan treating her father in a way that Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, would have loathed. That’s not what

Diana stood for.” He also said he didn’t care if sharing his opinion upset his son-in-law.

“I don’t care if Harry never speaks to me again. I’ll survive.”

But he is filled with dread at the thought of not reconciling with his daughter. “If Meghan never speaks to me again, I don’t know how I can go on without my heart breaking. I blame the royal family. I can see the strain Meghan’s under, it’s in her face.”

Meanwhile, Meghan’s sister Samantha has weighed in after

model and TV presenter Chrissy Teigen shared her opinion of Thomas on Twitter. “This guy sucks,” she tweeted. “What’s wrong with him? Let your daughter be happy please.

This is embarrassing.”

Samantha (53) immediately shot back, “So this pudgy airhead @christineteigen who knows nobody in the family is opening her pie hole? This guy is our father and deserves a lot of respect. You are the one who sucks.”

In these troubled times for Meghan, she is getting great support from her sister-inlaw Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. One source notes that Kate (36) has made “a big effort to be kind to Meghan and look out for her”.

Another adds, “They’re quite different characters but they get along well.”

Kate invites Meghan to Kensington Palace once a week and they talk regularly on the phone, the insider says. “She’s been very sympathetic to what’s going on with Meghan.”
