This week’s model Helene shares her beauty secrets with us…

Beauty-wise, what’s surprised you the most about getting older? It shouldn’t really have surprised me, but how dry my skin has got – and so quickly! It’s like it happened overnight. I’ve always fought against oily skin and now it’s the opposite; I am lathering on oils and balms and sometimes it’s not enough.

What’s your latest favourite beauty find? Well, I knew about this one, but I’ve only just invested in it and I can’t get enough of RMS Beauty “Un-cover Up” from Mecca. You can use it as a foundation or a light concealer as it visibly melts into the skin while covering imperfections and redness (a bonus for my rosacea). It’s also chemical and preservative-free, and comes in a travel-friendly pot.

What’s your biggest beauty challenge? Definitely the aforementioned dry skin and rosacea, which have both only been an issue for the past 12 months. I’ve had to adjust my foundation formulations and steer clear of any harsh ingredients and perfumes, which certainly narrows down the beauty wish list! My routine is very clean and organic focused now, though, which can only be a good thing.

What will be your go-to sunscreen this summer?

I love anything by the COOLA brand, especially the new

Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops SPF 30, an organic facial sunscreen that protects your skin from sun damage and digital overexposure. You can apply it alone or blended with your everyday skincare and make-up – it’s too easy.

What’s the one thing that you wish women of your age would do more of? On a surface level? Wear less heavy make-up and more sunblock. On a deeper level? Care for ourselves more – it’s too easy to put everyone else first and run out of time for you. Easier said than done, I know, but it’s something to aim for.
