She’s always such a ray of sunshine, but Pippa Wetzell really does look particularly radiant on our cover this week.

And her secret to looking so zen is actually rather simple – she’s been kicking back on holiday, taking some proper time out with her family. Better still, she’s been holidaying in a Wi-Fi dead zone, with only the occasional spot of mobile phone coverage. Bliss.

I still maintain that one of the best holidays I’ve ever taken was a week on my lonesome in a remote little spot in Samoa, which I booked entirely on a whim because the flights were about the same cost as a taxi to the airport.

There was no Wi-Fi, no TV and just one spot nearby that I could get a bit of mobile coverage – which all felt a little alarming for the first 24 hours, until it sunk in that should there be a massive emergency people could get hold of me on the hotel’s landline and otherwise, heck, I was on holiday!

A few days in, I’d given up even trying to keep track of what time it was, I ate whenever I felt like it and got through a suitcase of books. As we get stuck into the year, it’s a good time to revisit those holiday feelings, and acknowledge the power and importance of really recharging our batteries.

I’m definitely going to slot into the calendar some quiet time to look forward to – or even just a few weekends where my mobile phone spends the entire time turned off in a drawer.

I hope you’ll give yourself some well-earned time out too.

Enjoy your week!
