New Zealand Woman’s Weekly

$100 WINNING LETTER

-

Jean’s in full control!

I read with great admiration the Weekly People story about Jean Stanley, the pest controller (28.01.19). What a lady to be doing that at her age [89]! I have a fear of mice and rat s, so I do greatly respect Jean for all she is doing. I walked through a bush cutting between Omori and Pukawa years ago and I guess that’s maybe where Jean does her trapping. It’s such a beautiful area and so worthy of her and the other volunteers’ valuable time. You certainly are not crazy, Jean, but a wonderful and caring lady. Our bird life is important and so are you.

Another Great Nana, King Country

The writer of our winning letter receives $100. Our other letter wins a copy of Twisted (Hachette, RRP $34.99) by Steve Cavanagh. JT LeBeau is a bestselling crime writer. His words have gripped the world. The only mystery greater than his stories is his true identity. So who is he? One woman thinks she’s found him − her husband has millions in the bank and a letter for the enigmatic author. But the truth is far more twisted.
