Vision for the future

-

North Shore now has its own worldclass eyecare and surgery facility, with the opening of the Auckland Eye clinic and Oasis Surgical suite in Takapuna.

Between its Takapuna and Remuera clinics Auckland Eye and Oasis Surgical offer the largest range of ophthalmology procedures and treatments in New Zealand. These include cataract surgery, glaucoma, pediatrics, retinal surgery, acute conditions and laser eye surgery. Free laser assessments can be completed at the new Takapuna clinic making it far more convenient for North Shore residents to determine their suitability for laser corrective surgery.

Auckland Eye Remuera is the only clinic in Auckland to offer SMILE laser surgery, the most significant advance in laser eye surgery since LASIK.

SMILE is a one-step, one-laser procedure which takes only 25 seconds per eye, having you back in action the very next day! Even if you have been previously assessed for Lasik and declined SMILE may be an option.

Auckland Eye North Shore is conveniently located at 3 Fred Thomas Drive. The purpose designed and built premises include consultation rooms, Oasis Surgical Theatre suite and day stay facilities.

During the design of the clinic, common difficulties encountered by sight-impaired patients were taken into consideration. Flooring materials, surface colours and lighting were carefully selected to help patients feel safe, comfortable and welcome.

Auckland Eye chairman Stephen Best says the Takapuna facility is another step in Auckland Eye’s vision to be a world leader in opthalmic care.

‘‘With Auckland Eye you’re in some of the best hands in the world. We love what we do, we understand how precious your eyes are to you and we love helping to improve the way you see the world!’’

Established in 1993 Auckland Eye is now New Zealand’s largest group of eye specialists, combined with Auckland’s premier eye surgery facility, Oasis Surgical.

Auckland Eye doctors working from the Takapuna premises include

Doctors Stuart Carroll, Dean Corbett, Archie McGeorge, Yvonne Ng, Sue Ormonde and Alison Pereira – supported by a fabulous team of technicians and administrative staff.

‘‘Your comfort and care come first,’’ Stephen says. ‘‘Being a little nervous, so our people take extra time to really listen explain and care. We offer a relaxed and friendly environment.’’
