Mega Hunting & Fishing store for the North Shore

Heading to the newest hunting and fishing store on the North Shore could just be the closest thing to an outdoor experience, when you can’t get out on the water or into the bush.

That’s the way partners Peter Francis and David Scott planned the Rosedale store – as a real experience. With lots of natural wood and a clever design that brings the great outdoors in, it has designated areas for every interest. You will find tents set up in the camping section, and specific areas for hunting, fishing, clothing, diving and archery.

A new service that’s offered over summer is a 6.30am storeopening to provide a service to anglers wanting bait, ice and last minute items of tackle.

At 1350 square metres it’s a massive floor area, and one of the largest Hunting & Fishing stores in the group. David and Peter took over the West Auckland operation last October, at Westgate shopping centre. They saw the potential in the North Shore territory, with its reach from the Harbour Bridge to Warkworth, and over the weekend they officially launched with a gala opening.

Peter Francis is a familiar face in the industry after a long association with NZ Fishing News as a sales representative. He is a keen hunter and fisherman, and at one stage worked as a fishing guide. Fly fishing is his passion.

David Scott came to New Zealand three years ago from the UK, and has owned several businesses previously. He’s a keen outdoorsman, and on a recent trip to Canada, won an angling trophy, The Tuna Cup. When you stop into the store you can see a mount of the winning fish, proudly displayed.

Peter and David have taken an experienced approach to this latest venture. Every one of the team at the store are specialists in one area or another of the great outdoors, and the entire group’s purchasing power means there’s a huge range of products at great prices. This store is handy to the motorway and offers plenty of parking.
