Netballers’ new tracksuit

- AMY BAKER

It’s all go for a netball team who stepped out in new tracksuits thanks to sponsorship.

The Rusty Rockets of Netball North Harbour were granted funding from the ANZ Netball Dream Delivery to purchase some team tracksuits.

They were presented to the team by the manager of the ANZ Albany branch Yvonne Arthur at Henderson Police Station in June. Player Kirsty Winthrop said the team ‘‘couldn’t be happier with them’’.

‘‘The girls absolutely love them. They’re very good quality, they’re very warm and will be great for the middle of winter.’’

They helped to create ‘‘team feeling’’ and also help players to identify each other before games, she said.

Rusty Rockets were started in 2017 and had already purchased essentials like uniforms and bibs by the time they found out about the ANZ funding, so went with a team tracksuit instead.

The ANZ Dream Delivery Programme encourages netball players to achieve their dreams by supporting teams with things like new performance gear, training and tips by some of the best in the sport.

ANZ head of sponsorship Sue McGregor said the company was proud to support netball at all levels and committed to helping as many of the netball community as possible.
