Yes I will be voting in the local body elections. I think the main thing at the moment that’s concerning everybody is the unitary plan. How it’s going to be introduced and is that a good thing. I probably won’t be voting purely because I don’t have a lot of interest in politics. The most important thing I’ve found the council are doing good is minimising the use of rubbish bags so they’re changing all that system.

KATE HAYHOE, 18, MURRAYS BAY

Yes I would vote, probably just because if you don’t vote you don’t get a say and you can’t be angry about it. The housing crisis and housing prices are, not important for me at the moment, but could be in the future.

ALAN GISBY, 65, TORBAY

Yes I’ll be voting. The biggest issue for me would be the sports fields and which councillors are going to help us on that because we’re so short of them. Especially football.

DEBORAH DALLIESSI, 58, BIRKENHEAD

Yes I’m going to vote. I’m concerned about the social services we have access to for our children. I’m very concerned and interested in the health services the district health board provide and how we have access to those.

MICHAEL SHERLOCK, 18, BROWNS BAY

I won’t be voting in the next elections just because I don’t feel like I have something to contribute. It does affect me but not massively, I’m only 18. If the housing market come’s down I’ll be sweet and be a happy chap.
