Plume Cafe in Matakana Village is a local fave and is bound to be packed on Father’s Day. Dads are sure to love the new menu at Plume Cafe, especially the hearty winter warmers like Venison Open Pie and the Beef Stew containing slow cooked beef cheeks, mixed bean cassoulet, sunny side egg and crusty garlic bread. The Cafe does not take bookings so get there early on Father’s Day.

Plume vineyard is the house of Runner Duck Estate selling a variety of wines. Their 2014 Sangiovese is made from 20 year old vines on the vineyard’s plot. They also produce a stunning grape juice and exquisite new olive oil, nearly ready to be bottled.

Normally $98 per person, Plume Vineyard Restaurant is offering a ‘6 Course Degustation’ for two people for only $98 with a glass of Runner Duck ‘Knight 2011’ per guest (no other options for the wine). Valid until September 2016 upon presentation of this article, except Father’s Day. Maximum six guests only per table and for entire table. Valid for two, four or six guests, cannot do singles.
