Pain-free dental IV sedation

-

Dr Gordon Ko of Albany Mega Centre Dental talks about IV sedation, a technique which is ideal for patients who are nervous about their dental procedures.

‘‘IV sedation puts patients in a state of deep relaxation where time seems to pass quickly,’’ Dr Ko says. ‘‘Patients say it is like being hypnotised – they remain awake and can respond to requests from the dentist but they feel no pain and do not remember details of the procedures afterward.’’

Dr Ko says he has had very positive feedback from patients who have had IV sedation. ‘‘They say it is very relaxing and takes away any anxiety they might have felt about dental procedures.’’

A further advantage of IV sedation is patients can have several procedures done in one treatment session, which is usually not possible otherwise.

It is recommended for patients who don’t like dental injections.

Dr Ko and his colleagues at Albany Mega Centre Dental are fully trained and qualified to administer IV sedation and will make sure your treatment is as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Dr Ko and his dental team are committed to offering patients the latest advances in dental technology for their comfort and well-being. They also offer the Waterlase laser treatment which is a patient friendly alternative to drilling.
