How long have you lived here and where are you from?

Have been on the Shore for most of my life but have also lived in Asia and the United States during my younger years. I’m proudly made in Taiwan.

Describe your neighbourhood.

I get my usual coffee and smoothie fix down at Lake Rd, and run up and down that insane hill on Woodside Ave with my crew.

What is your earliest memory of the Shore? I arrived in the late 80s and we stayed in the motel in Takapuna. I remember going to the supermarket for the first time with a big rooster logo on top of the roof. I spoke no English at the time and was petrified luckily no one tried to have a long conversation with a little Asian kid.

What are the greatest advantages to living here?

People are generally very health and fitnessconscience, which means a variety of services are readily available. Not to be biased, but I find the Shore residents are a lot happier then the stressed out CBD dwellers.

What is your favourite North Shore beach and why?

Milford, because it’s a good walk there and dogfriendly, and the views are amazing.

What do you like least about the Shore and how can we fix it?

Traffic is rampant and it can be hard to cross the roads, more pedestrian crossings would be great.

Where is the best place to have a meal?

‘‘I find the Shore residents are a lot happier than the stressed-out CBD dwellers’’

Ethnic takeaway shops are my usual first choice. Birkenhead’s are awesome, and Northcote’s food court would be a close second. What are you doing this weekend?

I coordinate a whole bunch of sessions every weekend, for example, personal training, boot camp, and Little Ninjas. So, when I’m not doing that, I’m hanging out with my daughter, watching cartoons in different languages.
