EXPENSE WARRANTED
It is not unreasonable for staff to travel business class when travelling on long-haul flights. If staff are expected to undertake work soon after arrival, sending them by ‘‘cattle’’ class could be counter-productive.
Frequently staff are expected to be involved in negotiations, research etc during the whole time they are at their destination. If jet-lag can be reduced by paying more for the travel, it may be a productive move.

BAGS WORTH A LOOK
Do you remember the good old folding string bag, light, reusable, and being about to fit two or more in a handbag? These could be sold in the supermarket in various sizes as a cheap one-off lasting for years. Patterns could be designed, so they could in colours, from acrylic, be made. Interesting would it be to have a competition, incorporating good old Ma¯ ori designs.
