More than 200 applications were received for the 21-member Auckland Council Youth Advisory Panel. The panel will be made up of people between 16 and 24 from Auckland’s 21 local boards. Its role is to offer advice on the council’s regional policies, plans and strategies, reflecting the interest of young people in Auckland. Auckland Council panels principal advisor Austin Kim said successful applicants served a three-year term, and would be paid $173 for each meeting, or workshop they attended. The final panel is announced in May.
