Brighten up your hood

- STAFF REPORTERS

Nominations have opened for Colour Your Community, a campaign inviting members and community organisations to submit a few words about an area in their community that needs a makeover.

The initiative offers six prizes of up $1000 worth of Resene paints, wood stains and accessories.

Applications could include paint and product for a new community mural, a graffiti clean up, a plain toilet block in need of some attention, a local playground paint job or even a neighbour in need with a fence or shed that needs a tidy.

Participants can apply on behalf of an organisation, business or for a community or individual project.

Five winning entries will be selected by a Neighbourly and Resene panel with a further handful picked as finalists for the People’s Choice Award.

Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says Resene is always on the lookout for ways to ‘‘brighten and transform Kiwi communities’’.

‘‘We’re really proud of being 100% NZ-owned and operated and are on the lookout for ways to invest in the local communities we are working in.’’

Nominations can be made using the Colour Your Community category on Neighbourly and close on Thursday 16 November 2017. For more information, head to: www.neighbourly.co.nz/ colouryourcommunity.
