NEW NEIGHBOURLY PARTNERSHIP WITH ACC

-

ACC is hoping to spark more community conversations about staying safe by joining forces with New Zealand’s first free and private neighbourhood website, Neighbourly.co.nz. Emma Powell, ACC’s head of injury prevention, said Neighbourly is a great channel for directly reaching local communities. Powell said Live Stronger for Longer – which focuses on helping people, especially the elderly, maintain their independence by avoiding falls and fractures – and the motorcycle safety programme Ride Forever are the two community campaigns ACC will be highlighting through Neighbourly. ACC is

Neighbourly’s first national community partner, sitting alongside its family of corporate partners: Resene, AMI, The Warehouse, energyclubnz and Stuff-Fibre. Neighbourly cofounder Casey Eden said ACC perfectly complements Neighbourly’s mission of ‘stronger, safer and friendlier places to call home’. ‘‘This is a really important partnership for us; ACC’s focus is prevention, care and recovery, which is ultimately about keeping every Kiwi safe, he said. ‘‘We’re looking forward to helping ACC raise the profile of some of their innovative campaigns, and showcase the results of the work they’re doing in communities.’’ Eden adds that content from government agencies is well-received by members. ‘‘We have councils, emergency services, education providers and health agencies regularly using Neighbourly to educate and engage New Zealanders,’’ he said. ‘‘As well as extraordinary reach, Neighbourly allows organisations to reach the communities they need to connect with the most.’’ Neighbourly is the fastest growing social network in New Zealand with over 540,000 active households and hundreds joining everyday. The site fosters interaction and conversation between neighbours and community organisations by creating an easy way for them to talk and share online through free and private websites for their suburbs.
